'The Great Global Warming Swindle'

by lee954 @ 08 Mar. 2007 - 20:47:51

This is the title of a documentary that I'll be watching tonight (ch4 - 9.pm). I've always been very sceptical about the concept of global warming/climate change: is it really happening, and, if so, is it caused by human activities?

This is the preview in my TV guide:

Are carbon dioxide emissions caused by human activities really heating up the Earth, or could there be another explanation? This film challenges the consensus on global warming, with scientists arguing that the Earth's climate has always been changing, and that the effect of the sun's radiation may be to blame.

I can remember when I was at school in the 1970s everyone was worried about the approaching Ice Age...how soon things change.

It must be on as I write this. Be interested in what you think tomorrow.

Unfortunately by about 9:30 I was feeling drowsy and so went to bed. The programme wasn't that interesting really though; just a lot of interviews with scientists and politicians.

I know that feeling. I don't have a tv anyway but I as at a Community Transpoty meeting and got home about that time and my eyes closed so quickly.

The science used in this documentary was wrong even before broadcast, even as the 'experts' claimed it. A load of hogwash.

'A load of hogwash.' I could say exactly the same thing about Al Gore's film 'An Inconvenient Truth.' Apart from the BBC, every other respected broadcaster is acknowledging that the facts concerning global warning are unproven and untested, and the consequences might actually be beneficial.
