  I am baffled as to why no attempt at all is being made to find a technological fix. Mirrors to deflect the sun's light, extraction of CO₂ from the air, anything?

    I just don't worry about it; there are far more important problems that need fixing in the world. Global warming/climate change is just part of the natural long-term variation in the climate of the world...like ice ages; and then warming up to come out of an ice age. When I was at school in the 1970s we had to write an essay about the effects of the ice age we were told was only decades away then.
