I've got my appointment for my Asperger's assessment at Sheffield - August 12th.
There's a 10-12 page questionnaire that I need to fill in first.
It's pretty much what I was expecting though.
It's crap but there's no other way except to just dive head first in and tackle it
I feel a little guilty about what I'm doing, or being forced to do, but for thirty years I've been asking [and begging] for help in finding work and getting started in life; and no-one was interested.
If I do get a diagnosis there will be practical help available to me...something I've never had before; and this makes me angry.
I empathise greatly with you Lee 'cos as I think I mentioned years ago I have a brother whose situation is very similar to yours.
Don't feel guilty, do what you have to do and hopefully even though it is possibly decades too late, you will get the practical help you deserve.
Don't be angry, channel the energy into positives it is NEVER too late. I hope this is a turning point for you.
